Appenzeller Sennenhunde

The Appenzeller Sennenhunde, also known as the Appenzeller Mountain Dog, is a medium-sized working breed that originated as an all-around farm dog that would herd livestock, guard the farm, and pull carts in their native Switzerland. Today’s Appenzeller still has the energy, smarts, and self-confidence that makes for valuable working dogs — but they’re anything but low-maintenance.
