Mother’s Day looked very different for firefighters from Orange County Fire Authority. The department received a call from a distressed family after their dog was stuck in the wall and needed rescue. The fire department’s post on Facebook notes that the pup managed to crawl in through a plumbing access door.

The dog named Faye is only two years old. After crawling into the wall, the pup was trapped there for about two hours. The firefighters eventually needed to break open a hole in the wall using a sledgehammer. After ensuring the hole was large enough for the pup to safely make it through, they tried to coax Faye out.

The video shared by Orange County Fire Authority captures an adorable moment as the canine decides to stick her head out of the hole. Once it was big enough, Faye started making her way out of the tight spot, per People. However, she took her time as she paused for a while with her paws and head sticking out of the hole.

After some encouragement from the firefighters and her family members, Faye safely made it out of the wall. In the Facebook post, the fire department jokingly exclaimed, “According to the family, Faye is probably already planning her next bit of mischief. Who knows…maybe we’ll see her again soon!”

Moreover, on May 14, Faye’s family and the firefighters who rescued her appeared for an interview. The dog’s parent, Julian Nguyen, noted that they tried their best before resorting to calling a rescue team. However, she was too far in and their hand couldn’t reach her. Firefighter Hector Jimenez stated that thermal imaging played a key role. Their camera helped them locate the pup before they could begin their rescue mission.
