Forbes Advisor released a survey that determined which states have the most spoiled dogs. While the results of the survey are not shocking, the metrics used to determine which dogs receive the most spoil revealed some rather funny habits among doggy parents.
How Do You Measure Spoil?
The survey included 5,002 dog parents. Each answered questions relating to the amount of investment, emotional and financial, they put into their pooch. Forbes Advisor focused on specific aspects of dog parents’ investment in their pups. Some of the metrics include:
- How often dog parents treat their pup to a special snack.
- Whether dog parents make their pup homemade food or treats.
- Whether dog parents dress their pups.
- How much money dog parents spend on their dogs in relation to how much they spend on their significant other.
- Whether dog parents throw birthday parties for their furry friends.
- Whether dogs go on vacation with their families.

- California: Californians are the second most likely to spoil their pups. They are most likely to treat their pups to a special snack from a restaurant.

- Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania is number four on the list. 64 percent of Pennsylvanians dress their pups in accessories and outfits.
