Guy Fieri is mourning the loss of his family’s dog, Cowboy. The celebrity pup died just one day before the Food Network star turned 55 on Jan. 22.

Fieri posted a photo of his late pup, which appeared to be a German Shepherd, on Twitter Saturday.
“Today is the saddest day in the Fieri family,” he wrote. “We lost our COWBOY today. He was one of a kind and brought so much love and energy to our family.”

The culinary entrepreneur’s post received responses from some big names in the entertainment biz, like “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamil and John O’Hurley from “Dancing With the Stars.”
“The O’Hurleys share your sadness,” the “Seinfeld” actor wrote. “It is the loss of innocence. May God celebrate him Home.”
Many other dog parents who have experienced similar losses also chimed in, sharing pictures of their departed pets and reassuring Fieri that Cowboy was not alone in crossing the rainbow bridge.
One Twitter user had a suggestion on how to cope: “The only way to get over the grief is to get a puppy,” @_SCLaw_ wrote, adding a pic of an adorable German Shepherd puppy.
Mayor of Flavor Town Moves On
Fieri apparently didn’t let the grief derail his birthday celebration, however. He later posted a video on Instagram of himself rocking out with Sammy Hagar to “I Can’t Drive 55.”
“The greatest birthday of my life,” he captioned the clip. “Wow Thanks to all my friends family and my big brother the red rocker @sammyhagar Wow UNBELIEVABLE.”
