In the DogTime.com Dog Breed Center under the Train-ability Breed Characteristic, 23 pure- and mixed-breed dogs received the highest — five-star — rating of “Very high” for intelligence. These dogs are usually ones with jobs, such as herding livestock, which require concentration and decision making. Here they are, in alphabetical order:
