San Diego Padres Baseball Team Up With Helen Woodward Animal Center

The San Diego Padres are teaming up with The Helen Woodward Animal Center to raise awareness for animal adoption and to help unwanted and abandoned pets in shelters. Saturday April 25th, when the Padres play the Dodgers at home, some of the Helen Woodward Animal Centers puppies will be greeting guests at the gate. That is not all, they will also be giving away FREE Puppies and Padres Calendars so if you want to get this amazing calendar, there’s only one way to get it. Go to the game!

This calendar features the San Diego Padres Allstar’s posing with homeless pups that are in need of finding their forever homes. Some of the pups featured in the calendar are from the Helen Woodward Animal Center as well as with pups from a shelter in Arizona, Help Animals Lives Today (HALT) in Kingman. The calendar pics were shot during Spring Training in Peoria. It will be featuring top athletes including: Matt Kemp, Justin Upton, Andrew Cashner, Tyson Ross, James Shields, Joaquin Benoit, Wil Myers, Ian Kennedy, Derek Norris, Team Manager Bud Black, Team Hitting Coach Mark Kotsay and Team Coach Dave Roberts.

It is heartwarming to see pictures of these professional athletes getting all softhearted at the sight of playful puppies. Some of the players stayed long after the photoshoot ended to continue cuddling and even tucking puppies into their jerseys to keep them warm.
