Sherri Shepherd’s ‘heart feels empty’ after dog Lexi passes away

Sherri Shepherd took to her Instagram to pen a sentimental tribute to her dog, Lexi. The reel included a touching montage of photos of the comedian and her son’s precious moments with the furbaby. Shepherd wrote, “My monster baby, my protector & my love. I am devastated to say goodbye.” She expressed her heartbreak over the loss but also noted she was thankful for the “12 beautiful years” she got with her.

Shepherd added in the Instagram reel’s caption, “When you get to Heaven, give your sister Ashley a big kiss.” The actor referred to her late Labrador Retriever, Ashley, who passed away three years ago. She further expressed her love for Lexi and thanked her followers for sending well wishes for the canine. The podcaster also shared that people would initially get “terrified” of the “ferocious 127lb dog.” However, they would fall in love with the furbaby once Lexi licked their face.

Shepherd shared another Instagram reel, seemingly of Lexi’s final moments before getting euthanized. The actor bid her final farewell to the Cane Corso and shared that her “heart feels empty.” However, Shepherd added that Lexi is “no longer in pain.” She further wrote, “You are cancer free and watching over me in Heaven. I love you.”
