‘Twisters’ Actor Glen Powell Adopted Dog With a ‘Heartbreakingly Depressing’ Video

Glen Powell has continued to win hearts both on and off the screen. The Hollywood actor recently starred in a new disaster film, “Twisters.” The project’s filming was a memorable time for Powell as he welcomed the adorable rescue dog, Brisket, into his life. The actor’s furbaby is regularly featured on his Instagram, and he has accompanied him to star-studded events. In fact, Brisket has also joined Powell for stunning magazine cover shoots.

Glen Powell reveals why he ‘needed’ Brisket

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Powell revealed that he was filming in Enid, Oklahoma at the time, and was at a coffee shop when he “just had the desire to be a father.” The Anyone but You star got candid and shared that he was “going through a breakup at the time” and “had always wanted a dog.” The outlet noted that Powell had been dating Gigi Paris.

Glen Powell’s dog was adopted through The Labelle Foundation. During the interview, he shared that he came across a photo of Brisket online while following several dog adoption and rescue Instagram accounts. Since the adoption process is difficult, Powell asked the friends who followed the rescue to “put in a good word” for him. The Top Gun: Maverick star’s “heartbreakingly depressing video of me why I needed this dog” worked, and he flew to Los Angeles to bring Brisket.

Powell called Brisket a “magical gift” as he brings him and everyone around him “so much joy.” The actor brought Brisket to the set of “Twisters,” where he made his presence known. Powell said, “He would sit in my chair and just sleep.” Brisket became “sort of a set mascot on that movie,” the “Twisters” star gushed.

Powell officially introduced his furbaby, Brisket, in July 2023. The rescue pup is an old terrier poodle mix, reported Teen Vogue. Powell took to his Instagram and wrote, “I can’t wait to tackle all the adventures of life with this guy!”
