Malnourished Rescue Dog Experiencing ‘All Her Firsts’ Goes Viral on TikTok

A heartbreaking TikTok video of a rescue dog experiencing “all of her firsts” has gone viral. The video sees rescue dog Roo enjoying all of her firsts with her new foster family. This includes her first meal, first morning nap, and first “snuggles” with her rescuers.

The video initially shows a malnourished Roo interacting with her foster family’s other dogs, before showing her getting used to her new life. “Don’t ever question the impact you can have as a foster,” the caption reads.

A Crew of Rescues is run by married couple Katie and Meaghan, dog moms who have four of their own while also temporarily housing others. “With four rescues of all different backgrounds and personalities, we are constantly searching for the best and most unique things and places for our dogs,” the couple say on their website.

Roo was one of three severely malnourished puppies found left in a crate in Raleigh in early July. Roo and another puppy were sent to rescue homes while the third puppy tragically died. The puppies were discovered in a backyard by Perfectly Imperfect Pups (PIPs) rescue, who called them “two of the skinniest, emaciated pups we have ever seen” (via WRAL).

Fortunately, Roo is now doing much better in her new foster home. Recent videos show her no longer malnourished and spending time with her dog friends.

Speaking on Roo’s new life, A Crew of Rescues posted: “She gets to eat whenever she is hungry. She never has to stay outside longer than she wants to. Most importantly, she never has to go in the crate.”
