Rescue mission for Manvel dog with bowl on her head involved drones

On Tuesday, after several residents spotted a Labrador Retriever mix roaming the streets with a bowl on her head, they reported the incident to the authorities in fear of the canine being unable to breathe. The plastic bowl covered her nose and mouth completely, which could prove fatal.

The Manvel Police Department posted about the incident on Facebook in hopes of receiving some help from the public. The department noted that although the officials searched until the evening, they couldn’t locate the dog with the bowl stuck on her head. According to KHOU, police officers had the assistance of Mayor Dan Davis, community members, and animal control officers during the rescue mission.

The following day, the Manvel Police Department posted another picture of the pup, asking residents not to approach her as she was skittish. Individuals had previously tried to approach her, but she managed to run away every time. Finally, on Wednesday, the officials brought out the drones to help locate the canine. They also tried to sedate her since the drones were of no help.

Later that day, the police department posted an update on their Facebook account. They said the dog with a bowl stuck on her head had finally been captured. She was sent to a local vet to receive further treatment. The professionals will be able to help free her from the ordeal.
