According to People, Selma Blair walked down the Tribeca Film Festival red carpet with her service dog on Wednesday. The actor was first diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, following which she welcomed Scout to her family. The canine companion joined her family in December 2021, per People. Scout is an English Red Fox Labrador who is almost four years old. He is energetic and attentive to Blair’s health condition.

The “Cruel Intentions” star’s neurologist recommended a service dog. They noted that having a furry companion by her side at all times has both emotional and physical benefits. The pup was quite young when she first took him in. However, he assisted her flawlessly nonetheless, helping immensely with her coordination and mobility.

Moreover, Selma Blair’s family members are also relieved that the service dog is by her side. She didn’t even know her son Arthur was concerned for her health until they welcomed Scout into their family. With the Labrador by her side, Arthur can rest assured about his mom’s mobility issues and overall safety.

Scout underwent a year and a half of rigorous training with Blair before graduating from the training school. In a 2021 Instagram post, the actor kindly requested everyone not to approach if they see her out and about with her service dog. While a smile is much appreciated, approaching her when they are actively working would distract her.

Scout is often featured on Selma Blair’s social media posts, as the “Hellboy” star always has the service dog by her side. He looked adorable in her most recent post as the duo stood beside a horse at the actor’s barn.
