Last month, a puppy was stolen from a Madison pet store, with a 64-year-old woman being identified as a suspect. The puppy, named Sugar, was reported stolen on April 30. Moreover, along with the puppy, the pet store was missing several other items. However, on May 5, the pet store called the police again to notify them that Sugar had been returned.
After realizing the canine was stolen, a group visited the Wisconsin pet store to return Sugar. The pup is easy to identify due to its missing toes, per News 3 Now. The suspect was arrested and is being held at Dane County Jail until her court appearance.
3 puppies worth about $10,000 stolen from Washington pet store
In a similar case, three puppies were stolen from Puppyland in Puyallup, Washington. This theft was also captured on surveillance video. However, the value of the puppies is about $10,000, per Fox 13. The suspects tried to grab as many canines as possible and stole a Poodle and two Yorkshire Terriers.
The Washington pet store has been targeted by thieves before as well, with suspects stealing a French Bulldog worth $5,400. Investigation into the theft of the Frenchie is still ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of yet. However, due to the frequency of puppies being stolen from the pet store, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has highlighted the possibility of the stolen animals being resold.
