Galveston dog found shot in face on beach ready for adoption

Currently residing at the Galveston Island Humane Society, American Pit Bull Terrier Chi was severely injured when the officer first brought him into the shelter. The pup had blood all over his face, per Fox 26. Chi had been shot in the face by someone and abandoned on the beach.

What’s worse, the authorities couldn’t find the entry wound, making the medical treatment more complicated. The shelter’s Executive Director, Josh Henderson, stated, “He’s still got a bullet fragment hanging in his neck, not hurting him at all.”

Per the Galveston Island Humane Society, Chi is three years, six months, and three weeks old. The rescue dog will need a cat-free home, as the shelter notes that he isn’t the biggest fan of felines. However, he does well with other dogs, especially calm ones.

After closely examining the American Pit Bull Terrier’s teeth, the shelter deduced the pup might have been chewing on rocks or chains. Moreover, he might have been chained to a tree in the past before being brought to the shelter.

Chi is up for adoption and has spent months in foster care. So, potential adopters don’t need to worry about potty training and crate training him. His foster mom is a trainer, so the canine can now do some sweet tricks. The shelter notes that Chi is a big fan of kisses and tummy rubs and enjoys playing with toys.
