Dog pyometra symptoms?

Question:

What are the symptoms of pyometra, and how does my vet diagnose it?

Answer:

A pet with pyometra can have the following signs: weakness, vomiting, poor appetite, increased thirst, increased urination and a fever. There may be a reddish, foul-smelling discharge from your pet’s vulva.

Blood work classically shows high kidney values, a low red blood cell count (anemia), and a high white blood cell count, typical of an infection. All these findings are suggestive of pyometra. X-rays and/or an ultrasound can confirm a pus-filled uterus.
