Per the security camera footage, this man dropped the sick pup off after-hours on January 21st. Details of why the dog died were not provided. However, it seems to be serious enough that criminal charges could be filed.

Animal Protection Officer, Daniel Ettinger, told The Denver Channel the dog was found “laterally recumbent.” He further defines this as the dog being unable to get up and showing signs of lethargy.

Ettinger relayed that if the dog’s death is determined to be a crime, “they could be punished by up to 300 days in jail, and/or $999 in fines,” per state law. He would like to talk to this man who brought the dog in “because it ultimately passed away in an unfamiliar place.”
