You’ve heard of the phenomenon where people resemble their pets. But have you ever heard of a celebrity doppelgänger in canine form? If not, allow us to introduce Pawl Ruff, the Australian Shepherd mix look-alike of “Ant-Man” actor Paul Rudd.

Shelter Names Dog After Paul Rudd

Collierville Animal Shelter in Collierville, Tennessee, believes a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix in their care is the spitting image of Paul Rudd, and therefore named him Pawl Ruff. The Town of Collierville recently tweeted at the 53-year-old actor currently starring in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” seemingly in the hopes of the celeb adopting the pup.

“While making love connections between pets and people today, we discovered one of our dogs is meant to be with Paul Rudd. We have nicknamed him Pawl Ruff,” the tweet began. “Paul doesn’t have a Twitter handle, but @AntMan does. And honestly, what is more heroic than adopting a shelter pet?”

Pawl Ruff Seeks Forever Home (With or Without Paul Rudd)

The shelter described Pawl Ruff as “a gentle, easy-going fella, the kind of guy you want to be your neighbor, best friend, or lifelong companion,” which sounds eerily similar to the actor’s personality.

“Maybe I really am the canine version of Paul!” the organization concluded.

According to People, Pawl Ruff is potty-trained, does well on a leash, and loves bath time. He’s well-socialized and affectionate. And his favorite treats are Milk-Bone and Bully Sticks. While he was originally known as Waffle House, the Pawl Ruff moniker suits him even better.

“Everyone here thought it was hilarious and rather fitting,” Brandon Wallace, the shelter manager, told CommercialAppeal.com. “Waffle House has shown he can be quite the goofball, but also extremely charming, which does describe many of the characters Paul Rudd’s portrayed.”

Collierville Animal Shelter has received multiple adoption applications for Pawl Ruff, but sadly, none of them were from the pup’s namesake.

Even if you aren’t Paul Rudd, you can fill out an application to adopt his doppelgänger dog on the Town of Collierville’s website and email it to casinfo@colliervilletn.gov.
