We Went To The ‘It’s All About the Paws’ Ice Cream Social Fundraiser To Prep For Their 7th Annual Adoption Event

You may recall how much we love It’s All about the Paws (IAATP) from when we first discovered them last year at their annual adoption event, participated in their 5k, and visited their May Day/Mother’s Day fundraiser celebration.

This incredible organization in St. Charles, Illinois strives tirelessly to support local animal rescues while spreading animal welfare awareness.

All of the money they raise goes directly to local animal rescues or their own foster-based Rehome Assistance Program, brand-new this spring, in which they accept dogs, cats, rabbits, and any animal whom they can help.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since we first discovered them. The organization is still going strong, and with their seventh annual adoption event coming up on October 9th, 2021, my dog Leia and I were excited to attend their ice cream social fundraiser in preparation!

In preparation for their annual adoption event, IAATP hosted smaller fundraisers, again partnering with local businesses. One of these events was an ice cream social at Kimmer’s Ice Cream in downtown St. Charles, where they also held their Blooms & Blossoms event in May.

Leia and I were excited to go! She wore her new Beast & Buckle harness (check out our review on DogTime coming soon!) with a sweet cupcake print for the occasion, while I wore my IAATP 5K tee.

The sun was setting as we drove out to the evening event, but the shop lights kept the patio lit up nicely.

IAATP had a great merchandise table, as always. By the way, you can also purchase these items and more on their website!

Leia and I brought some items to donate to IAATP, including harnesses and leashes for their fosters.

These ice cream fundraisers are a dream come true for Leia and me. Not only do we adore IAATP, but we also have a sweet tooth — she is definitely my daughter — and love Kimmer’s ice cream.

I actually brought a treat for Leia with me, because I didn’t know they offered pup cones. Lo and behold, they even offered one to me — a cute mini cone with a little dollop of plain vanilla ice cream on it.

I’m not sure who enjoyed the pup cone more — Leia, while eating it, or me watching Leia eat it. It was Leia’s first pup cone, but certainly not her last!

It was a delightful, relaxing, lovely evening, chatting with fellow IAATP supporters, petting other dogs — sorry, Leia; you know you’re always #1 in my heart — and enjoying a late-summer night with delicious ice cream.

Best of all, it was a fun and really easy way to support one of our very favorite rescues.

The ice cream social wasn’t the only event IAATP held in preparation for the main adoption event this year, though. One event, called “Drinking for Dogs,” took place at Polyanna Brewing Company, where they raised $1000!

Join In At The 7th Annual IAATP Adoption Event

The seventh annual It’s All About The Paws: Adoption Event and fundraiser will be on Saturday, October 9th and Sunday, October, 10th from 11:00AM to 5:00PM at Baker Memorial Park in downtown St. Charles, IL.

For the past six years, It’s All about the Paws (IAATP) has partnered with and brought together several other local rescue organizations, small businesses, music vendors, and more to bring the animal-loving community a fun-filled weekend.

Over 50 adoptions have taken place during their annual adoption and fundraising event, and they have raised over $15,000.

It is their goal to continue to raise more, educate more, advocate more, and continue to not only raise funds for local rescue organizations, but also to help people find their forever furry family members.

This year will be nothing short of amazing! They will have at least five to seven rescue organizations attending, several local vendors, musicians, photographers, a photo booth, raffles, free coffee and cupcakes, and so much more! The first 20 dogs to come will receive a free Swag Bag.

On Saturday, October 9th, from 12 to 2 PM, they will be hosting a costume contest, and the first ten children to participate will also receive a free swag bag.

On Sunday, October 10th, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Kane Area Rehabilitation and Education for Wildlife (K.A.R.E.), a nonprofit wildlife rehabilitator, will be giving a special presentation about wildlife welfare.

It’s All About The Paws is a foster-based rescue in the St. Charles, Illinois area that focuses solely on owner surrenders through their Rehome Assistance Program.
Perhaps most importantly, there will be many dogs available for adoption, so you can fall in love on the spot!
