Senior Dog Plays for the First Time in a Month in Foster Home Video

A video of a senior dog named Minnow playing for the first time after coming to his foster home a month ago is winning hearts on the internet. His foster carer, Jaimie Delaney, decided to take in the white little dog after learning that the non-profit dog rescue organization Muddy Paws Rescue was looking for someone to foster Minnow, per Newsweek.

Delaney posted the heartwarming video clip under the handle @jaimdelane on TikTok. It showcased the foster dog trusting the carer enough to finally play with her after almost a month.

Jaimie Delaney wrote in the caption of the TikTok video, “Sweet boy is showing us more and more of his personality everyday.” Although Minnow liked walks and cuddles, he struggled during playtime, revealed Delaney. He would freeze when she tried to engage him in playing with her. Through the video, the carer expressed, “He (Minnow) may be a senior dog, but he’s still a puppy at heart.”

As disclosed by the carer, the senior dog is more than 9 years of age. She further revealed that in early August, Minnow’s owner surrendered him to the Manhattan location of the NYC Animal Care Center. Delaney was compelled to foster him. She told Newsweek, “The minute I saw him, I reached out to Muddy Paws and volunteered to take him.” She continued, “I grew up with a small white crusty dog similar to Minnow, so I have a soft spot for senior gremlins.”

The foster dog carer further revealed to the news outlet that Minnow may be small in size but he has a big personality. He was unafraid to inform her of his preferences from the very beginning. Jaimie Delaney believed that the senior dog took a few weeks to understand the place he and the carer’s other dog and cats were living in also belonged to him. However, nearly a month later, Minnow realized that he was also a part of it.
