The TikTok videos show the woman (@slayforeign) explaining her dog, Grayson, “isn’t bad,” he “just [doesn’t] speak English.” The rescue puppy owner then speaks in Spanish and commands him to sit. The pup instantly pays attention as he seemingly recognizes the language. He continues to follow the command and sits down. This is followed by the furbaby letting out an excited little howl.

As the video went viral on the platform, several users took to the comments to gush about the pup. One wrote, “He’s excited too like finally something makes sense.” Another gushed, “We love a bilingual king.”

In the caption, the woman wrote that she “just found this funny.” She then hashtagged it, “mexicandog.” The video has garnered over 5.6 million views at the time of writing. Meanwhile, it has been liked by over 1.6 million. After the video went viral, the lady shared another video introducing Grayson. She confirmed that they recently found out the pup does understand Spanish. However, she is “still getting used to it” as she is not fluent but plans to be. The user added that she adopted him, and he is around three to four years old.

The TikToker’s other videos are of herself, while Grayson is regularly featured on her page.
